Revelation 18:4
By Gary H. Kah
On November 4th, the United States took a giant step toward embracing a dangerous form of globalism. Our nation’s largest city elected Zohran Mamdani, a communist Muslim who has called for a Global Jihad, as its mayor. Mamdani, who served as a New York state assemblyman, ran as a Democrat, receiving 50.4 percent of the vote. The next closest candidate, Andrew Cuomo, who ran as an Independent, garnered only 41.6 percent. So, this much anticipated race in the final analysis wasn’t even close. New York City, the center of world trade and free market capitalism – and by far the most influential city in America – has fallen to the new anti-Christian/anti-Semitic world order.

New York City falls to Marxism
The repercussions are enormous. Leftists in other major US cities have been emboldened. Already Seattle has followed suit, electing a very far-left socialist, Katie Wilson, as its mayor. According to surveys, approximately 35 to 40 percent of Americans are now squarely in the socialist camp based on their political/economic/religious views. The vast majority of these misguided individuals are congregated in our biggest cities and therefore can potentially “take” most any US city on any given day, if they can “turn out the vote.” According to a nationwide Gallup poll conducted in August, 66 percent of Democrats and 14 percent of Republicans hold a positive view of Socialism.1 This is what 60 years of indoctrination by universities, the media, and liberal deconstructionist churches has accomplished. Dedicated Marxists in these circles are no doubt quite proud of what they’ve managed to achieve.
New York City is home to the world’s largest Jewish population outside of Israel, with over one million. We’re told that about one-third of the city’s Jews voted for Mamdani. This means that two-thirds voted against him. These discerning individuals realized what the election of an anti-Jewish Muslim communist would mean for NYC and perhaps the rest of the nation. Many are preparing to leave.
An early November poll conducted by J. I. Partners and reported by the Daily Mail indicated that approximately 765,000 New Yorkers – about 9 percent of the city’s 8.4 million residents – would leave the Big Apple if Mamdani became mayor. Another 25 percent – about 2.12 million – said they would “consider” relocating. Although this poll did not distinguish between Jews and non-Jews, I believe a majority of those who will actually exit the city will be from the Jewish community. To them, the sad irony of Mamdani’s victory coming only a few days before the 87th anniversary of the Nazi-perpetrated Kristallnacht (Nov. 10, 1938) is “crystal” clear.
On that infamous day 91 German Jews were murdered, over 1,400 synagogues were set on fire, and 7,500 Jewish businesses were vandalized. Some 30,000 Jewish men were rounded up and sent to concentration camps. Holocaust survivors warn that the levels of antisemitism in the post-October 7 era are comparable to the pre-Holocaust Jew-hatred of 1938.2 This growing hatred is unfortunately not limited to New York City; it is spreading nationwide. However, New York – with all its Jews – is the big prize. Radical Muslims are celebrating and will now flock to NYC, establishing themselves more firmly as they claim their prize (much like they’ve done in Dearborn, Michigan and a growing list of other communities).
In response to Mamdani’s election, Israel’s Diaspora Minister Amichai Chikli tweeted, “New York will never be the same again, especially not for its Jewish community… I invite the Jews of New York to seriously consider making their new home in the Land of Israel.”3 Torah blogger, Yeranen Yaakov, wrote “NYC will now have a pro-Hamas mayor, and government officials will now follow their leader in that sentiment…those stuck in Mamdani’s NYC will end up being fatalistic.”4
In light of this new reality, I urge the Jewish people of America, but especially those living in New York City, to prayerfully consider making Aliyah to Israel, and to do so soon. The times will not get any easier. There are Christian organizations set up specifically to help those wanting to make Aliyah. Take advantage of their services while you are able. One of these organizations is Operation Exodus USA, on whose board I have the privilege of serving. You can contact team members online by going to www.operationexodususa.org for assistance.
To my Christian brothers and sisters I would say this. Unless you believe that the Lord has called you to stay in New York to share the gospel or to minister in some specific way, you would be wise to get out while you can. Fast, pray, and earnestly seek the Lord for His clear direction on this. Then act in obedience.
Persecution of Jews and Christians is coming to America. Prepare your heart to endure hardship for the Lord. Jesus warned His followers of persecution; He said,
If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. Remember the words I spoke to you: “No servant is greater than his master.” If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also… – John 15:18-20a
We know from other passages of Scripture that the persecution of believers will intensify in the end times. But the Bible also offers hope for those who remain faithful in the face of such trials, as they await the Day of the Lord.
“Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and staff, they comfort me.” – Psalm 23:4
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” – John 3:16
“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” – Romans 8: 38-39
During these increasingly dark and difficult times, we must place our trust in Jesus, the lover of our souls. He will sustain us through whatever the devil hurls our way and will reward us in ways beyond our imagination. As James wrote,
“Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.” – James 1:12
One final word. We must never allow fear or intimidation to prevent us from boldly speaking the truth. We must continue to stand firm for Jesus and do all the good that we can, while we can. Don’t stop being salt and light, as we are Christ’s ambassadors in this broken world, whose people – regardless of their background – desperately need salvation. ■

Have You Trusted Jesus as Savior?
God loves mankind – his greatest creation. His perfect will is for all to be saved and none to be lost (John 3:15-18, 5:24). However, He makes clear that only those who have accepted (believed in) His divine Son, Jesus Christ, will be spared from the punishment of hell and will spend eternity with Him (Matthew 10:28 & II Peter 2:4-10).
If you have not accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, you must believe that Jesus is who He says He is and that He paid the penalty for your sins with His death on a cross. Accept His free gift of eternal life which He can offer because He conquered death through His resurrection. Then, with the help of His Holy Spirit, turn from your old ways of living (repent) and follow Him. Take a moment and tell the Lord that you desire to receive Him into your life and ask His Holy Spirit to dwell inside of you and lead you into all truth.
Once you have settled this most important matter, be devoted in your relationship with the Lord. Spend time with Him by reading His Word (the Bible) and talking to Him (praying) daily. As you grow in His grace, He will direct you and open doors showing you how best to serve Him. With Jesus at the helm, your life and eternity are secure in His care. No situation or power of the enemy will be able to separate you from the love of Christ!
“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?… No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
—Romans 8:35, 37-39
