Our daughter, Alyssa, is an RN at the hospital in Indianapolis that was the first to handle Corona patients. Her husband, Tony, is a Respiratory Therapist at the same hospital. Please pray for their protection and that God would grant them an extra measure of compassion, strength and endurance as they are being overrun with critical care patients. They are on the front lines here in our state and are experiencing a surge in very sick COVID patients. Alyssa texted our family stating, “Our ICU (24 beds) is already completely full. And they have opened up a 2nd ICU. The struggle is real.”
One day last week, after Alyssa got home from a long shift, we brought her and Tony some food. But because of their exposure to the virus and the fact that we are caring for my fragile 88-year old father – who recently returned home from the same hospital where he was treated for kidney failure – we had to leave the food on their front porch. None of us could run the risk that comes with personal contact. Instead, we spoke words of encouragement through the closed door, then left. It was all quite surreal.
The fact is, our family is having to deal with this terrible disease just like everyone else. If you are among the fortunate few whose life has not yet been drastically impacted by COVID-19, brace yourself, because it soon could be. At present, like most of you, I am experiencing a range of emotions and asking many questions as I seek answers to how the Coronavirus originated and where we are headed as a result of this pandemic. Here are some of my thoughts and observations from following the spread of this strange virus.

A Dangerous Strain
Regardless of how the virus got started (the full truth of which we may never know), its deadly effects are real. It is more than twice as contagious as the flu and at least 20 times more lethal. The fatality rate is the most significant number to consider. This can range widely from country to country, depending on the age of the population, their overall health, their social habits and other factors. The death rate in Italy, for example, has been running above ten percent for those infected; while in several other countries the rate has been closer to one percent. Why is that?
One of my closest friends lives in north-central Italy where the situation has been extreme. We’ve stayed in close contact, communicating every few days via FaceTime, texts or emails. Gianluca and his wife have been on lockdown for weeks now. He told me that at one of their cemeteries, the hearses were backed up, waiting in line to get in to bury the dead. In one of the villages hit hardest, the crematorium was running 24/7. Many are dying.
Here are some of the reasons why Italy has been so severely impacted:
● Italy does a lot of trade with China. Chinese and Italian businessmen – as well as engineers, contractors and students, etc. – travel back and forth on a large scale.
● The Italian people regularly greet each other with a hug and with kisses on both sides of the face. “Social distancing” is a foreign concept to them, as they are a very social people.
● Young people who were infected early on without realizing it, in many cases brought the virus home, passing it on to their parents and grandparents. In Italy it is not uncommon for three generations of family members to live under the same roof.
● Because of these and other factors, the virus took hold among the elderly and spread rapidly with deadly results.
● In addition, the physical reaction to the Coronavirus – across all age groups – appears to have been worse among those individuals who took Ibuprofen for their fevers and body aches. It only exacerbated their symptoms, making them more ill and less able to fight off the sickness.
Studying the characteristics and spread of COVID-19 in Italy has proven beneficial to understanding and responding to the virus here in the US and elsewhere. It should help us to “flatten the curve” as Dr. Fauci puts it. Physical distancing along with the new usage of existing medicines and treatments should serve to shorten the outbreak cycle. The use of Hydroxychloroquine coupled with Azithromycin appears to be the most promising. Remdesivir may be effective for some people as well. Another treatment that can help in boosting one’s immune system comes in the form of Vitamin C infusions. We have a friend who had severe immune-deficiency; these infusions basically kept him alive until he was finally cured. Most large cities have doctors who are able to administer this treatment.
In theory and under ideal circumstances, the current Coronavirus cycle could be conquered in just 25 to 30 days. If everyone did their part and no one passed the virus on to anyone else, from start to finish this could all be over in less than a month. Follow my line of reasoning: If we consider the most recent person to have been infected, it might take them up to 10-12 days to realize they are ill. Then it would take another 10-18 days to either fully recover or die from the virus. If everyone else, regardless of whether they have the virus, was taking all the necessary precautions along the way (such as distancing, regularly using sanitizers, washing hands, wearing protective masks, etc.), there might be no new outbreaks; Corona would be defeated! This virus is NOT insurmountable. If everyone does their part and takes this seriously, the current round of COVID-19 could be history in fairly short order.
Will this optimistic scenario play out? In all likelihood, no. We know human nature better than that. But we still have to do our best.
Pandemic Pandemonium
We must shorten the cycle (flatten the curve) not only to save lives, but to deprive the far-left media of their desperate crisis narrative. The globalists/socialists in the media are fomenting mass hysteria through their over-the-top sensational coverage of COVID-19. I personally believe that this is intentional. The liberal press and media, these days, almost always have ulterior motives in covering events the way they do. This is no exception.
As New York Governor Andrew Cuomo accurately stated this week during a press conference, “Crisis forces change!”1 The media and their political comrades on the Left understand this well and therefore operate under the guiding principle, “Never let a crisis go to waste.” The fact is, they simply can’t resist turning this health crisis into an opportunity to further their globalist/socialist agenda.
When everything is going well and the economy is humming along, it is difficult to convince the public to accept major governmental, societal, and economic changes. Why embrace drastic structural changes if there is no reason to do so, right? But if the Corona crisis can be effectively amplified and used to collapse the stock market, and ultimately our economy, then perhaps globalists would finally be in a position to offer their “solution” to a desperate people. I believe this is where this crisis is headed unless, as mentioned, we rob the Left of their narrative by swiftly defeating this virus. It will be more difficult for them to implement their agenda if things suddenly improve. But, the longer this situation drags on, the higher the probability that our economy will tank and more draconian measures will be introduced (forced upon us).
President Trump’s best argument for re-election has been the record strong economy. Take this away from him, and the odds of a far-left candidate winning the White House this fall increases dramatically. With a patriotic, pro-constitution leader out of the way, the stage would be set for a socialist president to lead us into a global government, complete with a cashless international economic system. If you believe this can’t happen, you are naïvely mistaken.
A Wicked Agenda
Consider the following news items that have been largely overlooked, or suppressed by our liberal media. These are just a few of many:
● Early on, the UN’s World Health Organization (WHO), headed by Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, did everything possible to downplay the severity of the Coronavirus. Ghebreyesus, an Ethiopian socialist revolutionary who is a close ally of China, clearly wanted to protect China’s image. But, there could be even more to this story. Could it be that the WHO’s Director-General actually wanted the virus to spread so that it would become a global problem requiring a “global response and solution?” Ghebreyesus happens to be a strong advocate for universal health coverage, regularly speaks on the impacts of global climate and environmental change, and wants to dramatically transform and empower the World Health Organization. Like other UN leaders he is a devoted globalist who uses his position – and every crisis that comes along – to further the cause of world government.
WHO’s Director-General Ghebreyesus with China’s President Xi Jinping
● Other dignitaries and powerful players who are allied with Ghebreyesus and the United Nations are also using convenient “health crisis” opportunities to advance the one-world agenda. They agree that global problems demand global solutions – world government. In October 2019, less than two months before the virus began in China, a globalist strategy session was held in New York City. This private meeting was called “Event 201: A Global Pandemic Exercise.” The purpose of this select gathering was to “game out” the response to a global virus pandemic. Those who supported/attended Event 201 included the United Nations Foundation, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the World Bank, the World Economic Forum, NBC, the CIA, the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine/Bloomberg School of Public Health, and the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention. Hmmm!
Their goal, which becomes clear when you watch clips from the meeting, is to control the entire narrative of a global pandemic from the top down – centralizing the flow of information and flooding the media market with their designed messaging in order to manage and modify our behavior. At their strategy session they called this focused propaganda technique “flooding the zone.” Something they are definitely doing right now. We are witnessing a very intentional internationalist agenda at work!
Remember, this meeting was held just weeks before the Coronavirus broke out. A mere coincidence? If seeing is believing, you can still watch clips of Event 201 on YouTube – if the footage hasn’t been removed by the time you read this. (Researcher Polly St. George, hosting her podcast under the name “Amazing Polly,” has posted some of these clips. According to Polly, the World Economic Forum has taken the lead on Event 201 and along with their partners has tapped Google, Facebook, Twitter, Microsoft, Apple, Amazon and other tech giants to “lead by example.” You can watch more comprehensive segments of Event 201 by going to www.centerforhealthsecurity.org/event201/videos.html. Some of these segments reflect the pre-existing globalist mindset held by participants.)
● Another key player using the Coronavirus to promote world government is Gordon Brown, the current United Nations Special Envoy for Global Education. According to a March 26 article in Life Site News, Brown has called for “the creation of a global government to cope with the coronavirus pandemic.” The article goes on to explain:
Gordon Brown, who was both Prime Minister and leader of Britain’s left-wing Labour Party from 2007 until 2010, told British media that the world government he proposed would address the medical and financial crises caused by COVID-19. It would direct efforts to find a vaccine for the virus, organize its production and purchase, and stop profiteers. It would also direct the response of the central banks, protect emerging world markets, and “agree a joint approach to the use of government spending to boost growth.” 2
“There has to be a coordinated global response…We need some sort of working executive,” he added. Brown also said that the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund need, as the Guardian paraphrased, “an increase to their financial firepower to cope with the impact of the crisis…”3 At the 2009 London Summit for the G20, Brown, who is also a member of the influential Bilderberg group, stated, “I think the new world order is emerging, and with it the foundations of a new and progressive era of international cooperation.”4
● Not to be outdone, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and Pope Francis are working side by side to advance this globalist agenda. Guterres is the former prime minister of Portugal and was the secretary-general of his country’s Socialist Party from 1992 to 2002. From 1999 to 2005 he served as president of the Socialist International, a powerful globalist network of far-left individuals and organizations known for promoting radical Marxist views and policies among the nations.
Francis and Guterres – “one-world” partners
As for Pope Francis, he has been practically idolized by UN leaders for his own socialist/globalist worldview. Now, he and Guterres, with one voice are calling for an end to global conflict so that all resources can be focused on fighting the Corona pandemic. Speaking at his weekly blessing in Rome, Francis specifically emphasized the appeal Guterres made for world peace and unification earlier in the week. NTEB referred to this appeal as “a call from the United Nations Secretary-General for all nations of the world to lay down their arms, end all conflict, and unite under the twin banner of the United Nations and Rome.”5
Pope Francis has already announced the May 14th launch of his “Global Compact on Education” which is intended to pave the way for “major global changes” through education. The world apparently needs a little more “conditioning” before it will readily embrace the coming global government regime. The pope is no doubt coordinating closely with the UN’s Gordon Brown on this “re-education” effort.
As a reminder, in February 2019, the pope gave the keynote address (via telescreen) at the World Government Summit in Dubai. He left no room for doubt that he wholeheartedly supports, and is working towards, the establishing of a one-world government. The United Nations, International Monetary Fund, and World Bank are among the parties who attend/support this annual event. The next World Government Summit is scheduled for November 22-25 of this year, and will once again be held in Dubai (immediately following the G8 Summit in Riyadh). Do we still believe that the Corona pandemic is really just about a virus?
Going Cashless
On March 2, the World Health Organization issued a call for people to refrain from using banknotes due to the possibility of the COVID-19 virus clinging to the surface of physical money. Credit cards, which are made of plastic, can retain the virus on their surface for an even longer period (up to three days). So, the WHO is encouraging digital and contact-less point of sales as an alternative method of payment. In my opinion, a completely cashless system won’t be accepted by the public until our current economic system collapses, or at least falters to a large enough degree that it is deemed ineffective and out of date for today’s interconnected world. Much of the sensational media coverage surrounding the Coronavirus, I believe, is intended to facilitate such a transition.
The central banks of many countries are preparing for a switchover. The global currency, when it finally is introduced, will make use of digital technology and take the form of an electronic monetary unit. It will utilize distributed ledger crypto technology which is readily available. Some international banks have been using the SDR (Special Drawing Rights) digital currency for several years to settle their inter-bank accounts. The public version of the SDR monetary unit has been ready to go for at least 18 months. In other words, it is waiting in the wings for the right moment to be brought forth. A global economic meltdown resulting from an out-of-control health crisis would be just “what the doctor ordered.”
Once such a cashless system is introduced and accepted – which may be sooner than we think – humans might be prepared to receive “the mark” spoken of in the book of Revelation. This mark, which will likely be either in the form of a small chip placed under the skin, or a special hi-tech tattoo, will be required in order for a person to legally buy or sell. If such a chip or tattoo were to be distributed as part of a mandatory vaccine, “necessary” for mitigating the spread of a deadly disease, most people – like sheep being led to the slaughter – would accept it.
Given the widespread disdain for Bible prophecy in today’s churches, and the overall biblical illiteracy of most professing Christians, the vast majority of churchgoers will eagerly accept the mark – thereby ignoring the clear warning of Scripture, and making an eternally fatal decision. The apostle John wrote:
…He [the Beast] deceived the inhabitants of the earth…He also forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead, so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name…
…A third angel followed them and said in a loud voice: “If anyone worships the beast and his image and receives his mark on the forehead or on the hand, he, too, will drink of the wine of God’s fury, which has been poured full strength into the cup of his wrath. He will be tormented with burning sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment rises for ever and ever. There is no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and his image, or for anyone who receives the mark of his name.” This calls for patient endurance on the part of the saints who obey God’s commandments and remain faithful to Jesus.
Then I heard a voice from heaven say, “Write: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.”

Christians who are alive to witness these events are expected by God to give up their lives rather than take the mark; so serious are the consequences. So whatever you do, never – under any circumstances, no matter how compelling an argument is made – surrender your will to the global authorities by taking such a mark!
ID2020
A group of influential globalist partners, known as the ID2020 Alliance, are racing to develop a digital ID that every human on the planet will need to do just about anything. It will eventually be a requirement. Based on the ID2020 Alliance Manifesto which was drafted in 2018 in partnership with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), this coming digital ID will be touted as “a fundamental and universal human right.” It will utilize advanced crypto technology and will claim to protect one’s privacy while allowing personal control over one’s own digital identity. They make it all sound so good!
On September 19, 2019 this elite body consisting of government leaders, technologists, global banking representatives, “distinguished” members of academia, UN agencies, NGOs, human relief programs, and strategic private sector companies, convened in New York City for the ID2020 Summit to “explore the potentials, and challenges, of digital identity.” This particular summit was sponsored by the UN Office of Information Communications Technology, the UN Refugee Agency, the International Telecommunication Union and the Danish Mission to the United Nations. You can learn more about the Alliance’s strategies and modus operandi by perusing their website, www.id2020.org. But, in summary, here is what I found after studying their site and doing some further digging.
The most influential ID2020 Alliance partners are Microsoft, GAVI (Global Alliance of Vaccines and Immunizations), The Rockefeller Foundation, Accenture, UN and international banking leaders, as well as the World Economic Forum – which provides a special platform for launching ID2020’s programs. In fact, according to ID2020’s website, “In January 2019, the Alliance launched the ID2020 Certification Mark at the World Economic Forum in Davos.”6
What is this mark all about? According to the Alliance,
…ID2020’s Technical Advisory Committee (TAC), made up of leading experts on digital ID and its underlying technologies, established a set of functional, outcomes-based technical requirements…
Through our Certification Mark, we shape the technical landscape to ensure that the digital ID solutions which are developed and adopted are user-managed, privacy-protecting and interoperable.7
In short, the ID2020 Certification Mark is intended to further digitize global commerce and serve as a stepping-stone toward a personal digital ID for every man, woman and child. In the Alliance’s own words, “A unique convergence of trends provides an unprecedented opportunity to make a coordinated, concerted push to provide digital ID to everyone.”8 These trends, they reveal, include rising global connectivity, emerging technologies – such as blockchain and biometrics – and the worldwide call for a “new model of ID.”
Bill Gates, hi-tech globalist
According to researcher Parker Claussen of Harbingers Daily, there is a close link between the pursuit of digital ID and vaccinations. Claussen writes, “With an equal drive to get everyone vaccinated, GAVI (Global Alliance of Vaccines and Immunizations) and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation play a pivotal role in the ID2020 Alliance’s mission.”9 At their 2019 summit, ID2020 unveiled its latest program:
Recognizing the opportunity for immunization to serve as a platform for digital identity, this program leverages existing vaccination and birth registration operations to offer newborns a persistent and portable biometrically-linked digital identity.10
Claussen points out the Gates Foundation’s involvement in pursuing special technologies for planting the universal digital ID on every person. He notes:
Coming out of Rice University, there is a new technology labelled the “Quantum dot” tattoo. This tag consists of tiny microneedles that deliver a vaccine, dissolves the sugar-based needles and leaves behind a mark or barcode-like tattoo. This mark leaves a record of the vaccine that had been received through an infrared-like dye pattern that can be read by a customized smartphone.
It is interesting to note that this Quantum dot technology was requested by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to solve the issue of not knowing the vaccination record of each patient in [certain] impoverished areas.11
Here’s the bottom line: Dedicated globalists involved in “solving” the COVID-19 pandemic are also putting in place a one-world cashless commerce system that will include a “device-free” digital identification mark for every human being. The UN’s world government agenda – in cooperation with its closest allies – has permeated, and is driving, the international response to the Coronavirus. If pro-UN globalists can’t pull off their new world order on this round, they’ll learn from this experience, make adjustments, and try again later.
The Coming Persecution
The current COVID crisis will inevitably lead to a weaker economy, greater debt, an urgent call for nationalized healthcare – and with that – more government control and less personal freedom. With tighter government controls and the push toward a restrictive centralized global system will come a targeted persecution of those who stand in the way.
What happens here in the US in the near term depends in part on the decisions President Trump makes over the next few weeks. I am praying, and we must all pray, that the president will resist the pressure from liberals to centralize our federal government. Or, going a step further, if he were to allow himself to be manipulated into declaring Martial Law – should the COVID crisis re-intensify – then all bets would be off. This could be a trap. Although the president would probably not take such an action unless he firmly believes that he and his most loyal administration appointees would be in full control of the situation, there is a very real possibility that those with a different agenda might use such an opportunity to take charge.
Many years ago, I served in an emergency management organization that was later brought under the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) once it was founded. The organization I was in fed into FEMA and other “higher powers.” I soon realized that our leaders were globalists with a highly favorable view of the UN. At one meeting I attended at Ft. McNair in Washington DC, we were briefed by two individuals; one was from the Rockefeller Foundation, the other was a prominent member of the Council on Foreign Relations. They were full-fledged globalists!
During this briefing, a new Christian friend I had made that week leaned over toward me and whispered, “Is it just me, or does it seem as if they’re trying to rebuild the tower of Babel?” Thank God, I thought – I am not alone; someone else sees through all of this. This man was one of only two other Christians I met during my entire seven years of service in that organization.
All this to say that while I am sure there are a few godly men and women who serve in the higher echelons of the DHS and the emergency management network, the majority of the people I knew during my term were non-Christian globalists – especially from 1989 to 1991 when George H.W. Bush was president and I had secret clearance. I am aware that President Trump has replaced some of the “bad players” with patriotic, pro-constitution leaders. However, just as the State and Justice Departments have been, and continue to be, stacked with liberal globalists, it would be naïve to think that the situation at DHS would be much different. The “Swamp” has thus far been only partly drained.
So, if this president, or a future US president declares Martial Law, in my opinion, it could lead to very dire circumstances for Bible-believing Christians, politically conservative Jews, and uncompromising patriots. I sincerely hope that this would not be the result, but it very well could be.
Apart from a Martial Law scenario, we are already in a politically charged atmosphere in this country where Jews and Christians are increasingly viewed with contempt by the leftist media and the growing socialist movement. It would not surprise me in the least if Jews and Christians might somehow be blamed for the COVID-19 outbreak – not only here, but in Europe and elsewhere. In fact, there is propaganda currently being circulated among Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank that the Jews are behind this virus. If this narrative catches on in the European and American media, it could easily be used to “stoke the flames.” Once that occurs, the hatred would quickly spread, and anything could happen.
Radical Muslims protesting against Israel & the US
Aware of the potential danger, the government of Israel is currently preparing for a major influx of Jews. If a worst case scenario were to play out, Jews from France would be among the first to flee as they are already under the gun – since France has the highest percentage of radical Muslims and Jew haters in Europe. This same scenario could quickly replicate in Germany, Italy, the UK, and other countries. The United States and Canada would not be immune from such a frenzied wave of hatred. As we’ve all seen, signs of it already exist.
Over the centuries there has been a saying – “First the Saturday people, then the Sunday people.” In other words, whenever anti-Semitism becomes fashionable and takes hold, the persecution of Christians is typically not far behind. History has shown this over and over. We all need to be spiritually prepared for what may soon come our way.
Where’s the Hope?
Despite the demonic nature of the globalists’ manipulative agenda and all the bad that comes with it, there are a few good things that are emerging from this crisis. For example, the United States now realizes how dependent we’ve become on China for our most critical medicines. The fact that China has been producing over 90 percent of our antibiotics and more than 70 percent of our acetaminophen is ridiculous and entirely unacceptable. No other country should be permitted to produce a majority of our life-saving drugs. I believe the president will move to correct this problem as quickly as possible.
I am also hopeful that we will be better prepared when the next health emergency comes our way. As a result of the on-going response of the US private sector we should have more ventilators, necessary medical equipment and supplies for the next round. There is also the growing possibility that treatments will be developed that lessen the impact of this highly contagious virus.
From a political standpoint, there is still an outside possibility that the Trump administration and the conservative/pro-constitution movement could actually benefit in this fall’s election. This, of course, depends to a large extent on how the president and his team handle this crisis the rest of the way – and how much sway the far-left media is able to exert over the American public.
The Corona crisis is also producing some encouraging results among many American families. People are actually learning to cook again. Parents are spending more quality time in meaningful interactions with their children. And, individuals are becoming more creative in what they do with their time. Hopefully, and most importantly, we are taking some of this time to reflect on our relationship with the Lord and grow in our walk with Him, and make changes where necessary.
Having said all this, let me be frank: Most Americans are not heading down a path of godly spiritual growth in their lives.
We have become a people of many false gods. Sports, entertainment, sex, careers, investments, pursuit of material things, eastern meditation, and other occult/mind-altering practices and drugs are just a few of the many idols in our lives that have replaced God. According to a survey conducted by Nielson, during a seven day span in March when the real impact of COVID-19 was setting in, the sale of alcohol in the US jumped by 55 percent. The sale of Tequila and Gin rose by more than 70 percent – in just one week!12 This tells me that most Americans are not responding to this crisis by seeking God and repenting of their sins. Instead, they are chasing earthly pleasures and idols even more than before.
Whenever I hear politicians – both Democrats and Republicans – declare that “America’s best days are still ahead,” I think to myself “What reality are they living in?” I understand that they want to project some positivity in their speeches and campaigns, but does anyone really believe that things are going to get better and better the rest of the way? Newsflash: If you are placing your hope in the things of this earth, you are in for a rude awakening!
Although I believe that the worst of this crisis will eventually pass, it is unlikely we will make a full economic recovery. COVID-19 is the first of many crises that will beset the earth. Each one will grow in intensity and they will be coming closer and closer together. In His “Olivet Discourse” Jesus likened these endtime events to the increasing labor pains that a woman experiences before giving birth (Matthew 24). They are to be taken as signs of the times indicating that we are living in the last days and rapidly approaching the Lord’s return. They should be viewed as important mile markers, warning us to repent and walk in close obedience to Him.
What the Lord most desires is our complete surrender to Him. Anything that is more important and has risen to a higher place in our lives than God must be yielded to Him. Beloved, do I dare say that some of us have even made gods of our children or spouses. Anything that prevents us from being what God has called us to be is standing in the way of our relationship with Him and has become an idol – a god – in our lives. All of us are guilty to some extent. Let’s use this sobering time in our lives to make the necessary changes; to submit and bring ourselves under the full authority of our loving Creator. If you have not yet believed in Jesus as your Savior, I urge you to invite Him into your heart right now; accept His forgiveness, repent of your sins, and place your complete trust in Him.
When we live in harmony with the Lord, each day moving forward step by step in a close personal walk with Him, His Holy Spirit gives us a peace that passes understanding. …Recently, I was preparing for a talk show and was feeling a bit overwhelmed – both because of uncertainties in my own life and because I was carrying a heavy burden to communicate the truth effectively. After praying and submitting the next day to the Lord, I finally fell asleep. Overnight, the Lord – knowing that I needed some encouragement – prompted a friend of mine living overseas to send me an email message. I woke up to it the following morning before my scheduled program. My friend, a Jewish believer, wrote:
…The Lord is telling me to be flexible. To be “wise as a serpent and harmless as a dove.” To remember “He didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a SOUND mind.” A sound mind means we are to be wise and walk circumspectly. “Our Lord is a strong tower, and the righteous shall run into it and they shall be safe.”
We need to use this as a time of preparation for far greater things that will befall the earth. We need to let our light so shine that a dark and dying people can see our Lord.
May God grant you His presence and give you the exact words that He is glorified!

China Rewarded by the United Nations
The UN Human Rights Council has a dark history of supporting and being closely allied with socialist/Marxist leaders from around the world. Last year, for example, Venezuela – which is under the regime of dictator Nicolas Maduro – was elected to the Council. Predictably, China has become the latest Marxist country to be appointed to a special panel on the controversial council, “where it will help vet candidates for important posts – despite its decades long record of systemic human rights abuse.” Although China helped fuel the Coronavirus through its secretive approach that punished doctors, threw out reporters, suppressed information and downplayed the seriousness of the virus – leading to a global pandemic – it is being rewarded by the UN. The United Nations consistently rewards those regimes that help fuel international crises and violate basic human rights. The United States left the council in 2018 because of its extreme corruption. Christians and Jews Blamed for COVID-19
In late March, the New York Times ran an inflammatory piece titled, “The Road to Coronavirus Hell was Paved by Evangelicals.” The subtitle read, “Trump’s response to the pandemic has been haunted by the science denialism of his ultraconservative religious allies.” Katherine Stewart, the article’s author, lashed out, “Donald Trump rose to power with the determined assistance of a movement that denies science, bashes government and prioritized loyalty over professional expertise. In the current crisis, we are all reaping what that movement has sown.” (Source: The New York Times, Op Ed by Katherine Stewart, March 27, 2020. Article title was recently updated to “The Religious Right’s Hostility to Science Is Crippling Our Coronavirus Response.”) Katherine Stewart is only one of a growing army of liberal journalists who are scapegoating Christians.
Then, there are those who pin the blame for every problem on the Jews – they can do no right, only wrong! According to Ynet News, an Israeli publication,
…In the Arab world, Israel is blamed for the spread of disease. Cartoons disseminated on Twitter and Telegram showed planes marked with an Israeli flag spreading coronavirus over people on the ground. Similar theories were spread in Turkey and Iran where the annual Holocaust denial cartoon competition was recently announced. Some cartoons show the Israeli flag with the coronavirus replacing the star of David. Other conspiracy theories claim Israel is already in possession of a vaccine and will make a fortune from its sale at the expense of human lives. Another source, Breaking Israel News, sheds light on developments in Turkey:
A report in the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) noted that on March 6, Fatih Erbakan, head of [Turkey’s] Refah Party and the son of former prime minister Necmettin Erbakan, was reported to have said in a speech: “Though we do not have certain evidence, this virus serves Zionism’s goals of decreasing the number of people and preventing it from increasing, and important research expresses this. Erbakan said: ‘Zionism is a five-thousand-year-old bacteria that has caused the suffering of people.’” Erbakan is close to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and has even been described as the president’s mentor.
A report by Donna Rachel Edmunds in JPost noted that the pandemic has brought out blatant anti-Semitism in the Turkish media. On March 10, Abdurrahman Dilipak, a columnist for the daily Yen Akit, blamed the virus on the Jews. Cashless Virus
On March 2, the UN’s World Health Organization issued a call for people to refrain from using banknotes due to the possibility of the COVID-19 virus clinging to the surface of physical money. Digital and contact-less point of sales, however, were encouraged as an alternative to handling bills and coins.
As the Telegraph reported, “both China and Korea last month began disinfecting and isolating used banknotes as part of their efforts to stop the spread of the virus.”
Indeed, physical money can carry bacteria and viruses, and hand washing after handling cash is a good idea. However, a representative from the Bank of England reminds us that, “the risk posed by handling a polymer note is no greater than touching any other common surface, such as handrails, doorknobs or credit cards.”
Nevertheless, it’s interesting to note how the threat of a virus spread could be used as an argument to encourage a cashless system.
Crypto to Cashless
In late February, the Bank of Canada announced that it’s seriously looking at the future development of a national, digital currency, in light of private crypto-currencies like Bitcoin. Recognizing that technological changes are pushing new currency models, the Bank stated it’s “implementing a portfolio of initiatives designed to prepare for the future of money and payments and to be ready for different possible scenarios that we cannot currently predict.” This will include “the capability to issue a cash-like central bank digital currency (CBDC) to the public, should the need ever arise.”
According to the Bank of Canada,
The Bank currently has no plans to launch a CBDC. Rather, the Bank will build the capacity to issue a general purpose, cash-like CBDC should the need to implement one arise. Because it will take several years to build this capacity, the Bank cannot wait until the need is evident before launching preparatory work. Preparing in advance is critical. At the same time, the Bank is preparing for a range of other possible changes to money and payments in Canada as innovation continues.
CoinTelegraph.com reported on this development by saying, “Although the Bank of Canada has no plans for issuing a digital currency immediately, the Central Bank is not ruling out the possibility of launching one due to potential mass adoption of private digital currencies — and the possibility of cashless societies.”
Rising World Debt
Debt levels are increasing at a fast pace, according to the Global Debt Monitor released by the Institute of International Finance in mid-January. A few points from the document paint a picture of the growing debt load.
– “The global debt-to-GDP ratio hit a new all-time high of over 322% in Q3 2019, with total debt reaching close to $253 trillion.”
– “Debt looks set to grow faster in 2020: Spurred by low interest rates and loose financial conditions, we estimate that total global debt will exceed $257 trillion in Q1 2020…”
– “Diminishing returns on new debt: Preliminary data for full year 2019 suggest that the global debt-to-GDP ratio grew at its fastest pace since 2016 – even as global growth fell to its slowest pace since the 2008-2009 financial crisis.”
– “Household debt-to-GDP reached a record high in Belgium, Finland, France, Lebanon, New Zealand, Nigeria, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland. Non-financial corporate debt to GDP topped in Canada, France, Singapore, Sweden, Switzerland and the US. Government debt-to-GDP hit an all time high in Australia and the US.”
– “China’s debt is fast approaching 310% of GDP – one of the highest in emerging markets.”
Americans on Socialism and Capitalism
In terms of the dominant political split in the United States between Republicans and Democrats, a correlation is observed between support over socialism and capitalism. Last year, Pew Research reported on their recent study regarding partisan division and the question of these two socio-economic systems. The findings are notable.
According to the report published in late June, 2019 “More than eight-in-ten Republicans (84%) have a negative impression of socialism; a 63% majority has a very negative view. Nearly two-thirds of Democrats (65%) have a positive view of socialism, but only 14% have a very positive view.”
Gender Confusion
On February 12, 2020, the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare released a new report on gender dysphoria – that is, people who “do not identify with the gender they were registered with at birth.” According to the Board of Health document, “Since the turn of the millennium, the number of people diagnosed wih gender dysphoria has increased in Sweden.”
There is no question that as cultural elites and social academics promote the narrative of “gender choice” and non-binary perspectives, constantly pushing this into the public education system, that more young people feel a sense of confusion. Peer pressure now has a new competitor; the pressure of aligning with politically correct narratives – and the pressure to “change yourself” to somehow “find yourself.”
As the Board of Health noted: “The number of new cases of diagnosed gender dysphoria among registered sex girls aged 13-17 has increased by almost 1,500 percent since 2008.”
Austria With Israel
The nation of Austria recently demonstrated that it stands with the country of Israel, a refreshing change to the rising tide of antisemitism. In late February, the Austrian parliament “unanimously passed a resolution… condemning the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions campaign as antisemitic… urging that the anti-Israel movement not be supported.”
BDS – Boycott, Divest and Sanctions – is an international movement meant to pressure countries, companies, and consumers to refrain from purchasing Israeli products, to withdraw investments, and to apply other economic sanctions against the Jewish nation.
Lukas Mandl, an Austrian Member of the EU Parliament, made the following remarks in light of the decision to oppose the BDS movement: “The Austrian parliament’s historic decision today to condemn any boycotts of Israeli goods shows that Austria stands on the side of Israel – not half-heartedly, but with full conviction… Austria’s partnership with Israel is a shining example for other European countries to follow…”
